7 Things we love about MadLife Grill:
Chef David Berry, previously recognized by the James Beard Foundation as a Rising Star Chef of the 21st century, joins MadLife Stage and Studios as Executive Chef.
“Chef David” was born and raised in South Carolina, but earned his culinary training in Yankee territory, at the Culinary Institute of America. After graduation,Chef Dave headed to Atlanta to work the stoves for the Buckhead Life Restaurant Group, owners of such notable Southern eateries as Pano’s and Pauls’, Chops, and Pricci before moving to Horseradish Grill.
Chef David was a staple of the Atlanta restaurant scene in the 90’s and 2000’s, before deciding to take a bit of time to focus on his children and family life. Chef recently rejoined the restaurant scene, taking the helm at the southern inspired Horseradish Grill before moving to Bellina where he helped design the space and develop the Italian menu.
Chef David is a music lover and is is excited to join the MadLife family to help create a symphony with both taste and sound. Chef plans to stay true to his southern roots at MadLife, but most importantly, plans to have fun with the menu, stating “The menu will follow the seasons, will feature both traditional and unique plates with a twist, and will change regularly”.
Chef follows the notion that “what goes together, grows together.” Depending on the guest artist and their style of music, Chef David envisions creating nightly specials to complement the vibe of the music being performed in MadLife’s live venue. According to Chef David, “the kitchen at MadLife will include a smoker, so we will certainly feature an amazing pulled pork sandwich, along with steaks, fresh seafood, seasonal vegetables and salads. Delicious breads and desserts will be made daily in house.”
